NEW YORK, NY - Richard E. Weltman, a renowned New York and New Jersey bankruptcy and business lawyer, and a founding member of the law firm of Weltman & Moskowitz, LLP, was recently honored by Northeast New Jersey Legal Services at its annual awards reception for his tireless efforts on behalf of indigent consumers in need of bankruptcy assistance.
Mr. Weltman, a participant in the Legal Services' Pro Bono Program for many years, was presented with its 2006 Appreciation Award recognizing Mr. Weltman for his unstinting support of the Pro Bono Bankruptcy panel and of the hundreds of unpaid hours he has spent providing legal services to the New Jersey residents in need of bankruptcy relief.
Upon receiving the award, Mr. Weltman thanked Northeast New Jersey Legal Services for its largely unheralded efforts on behalf of consumers so desperately in need of unpaid legal services, and pledged to continue to help when called upon to do so.
"Being able to support the Pro Bono Bankruptcy Panel is the greatest gift," Mr. Weltman stated.
